Hi there! My name is Kara Yoder and I am an Artist/Illustrator living in Arkansas. The name Kawa Yoda came about as a joke between sisters and has served as the perfect pseudonym for my creative expression. Kawa means River in Japanese and Yoda is a cultural icon of Wisdom. So there it is; River of Wisdom - River of Life. It serves as a reminder to trust my intuition and to follow the natural & powerful flow of Life itself.

My art is earthy, symbolic, rich with color, and inspired by the mysteries of Life. I practice offsetting my innate perfectionism with soft edges and untamed strokes. When I’m not making art, I enjoy time with my boys {Lev & Tristan}, walking around the woods, making cookies, and being an amateur poet & philosopher. I also really adore my cat, Merlin. Meow
